Method
- Our approach is to lift the child as a whole .
- We feed them a healthy snack and plenty of it.
- We provide a cheerful, clean environment where children can relax and have fun. They learn uplifting songs and poems. They play games and do crafts or projects..
- We challenge them to read twenty books for which they receive a small prize.
Facts and Finances
- Registration: Free.
- Actual cost: $220 per child.
- Number of children/session: 14 to 18.
- Total cost of 5 staff plus supplies comes to $4.000/session. (Rent is free)
- Each session lasts for 7 weeks, ending with a performance for the parents.
Ways to Contribute
- Write a check (tax exempt) to Coming UP! Reading Club.
- Give a gift card from a store with craft supplies or groceries.
- Give 20 coupons from a local business for a free treat i.e. cookie, taco, balloon, etc.- to be used as prizes for the reading challenge.
- Come help at the reading club. We have a lot of fun here! T, W, Th 3:00-4:30 pm at I. B. Perrine Elementary School. Enter between the portable buildings.
